Nike Game Growers is an exclusive opportunity for Eighth-Grade girls to share their ideas on how to encourage more girls to play sports. Two girls were selected by each participating WNBA or NBA team to develop and test their idea and create a Game Plan that could grow girls sports participation.
The Class of 2020 Game Growers Game Plans embodied five key themes and outlined solutions to get more girls playing.
Build and instill confidence by learning the fundamentals of the game through compassion, creativity and risk-taking.
Promote teamwork, community and skill-building through sport without the need for a “winner”.
Empower girls to get involved through programs that focus on female mentorship and girls-only camps.
Create diverse opportunities including multi-sport clinics, co-ed and mixed-age group events that empower girls to free their competitive drive.
Support girls as they find ways to access resources that will break down barriers over time.

Applications for this years program open in Fall 2020.
8th-Grade Girls team up to complete an online application that shares their ideas about getting more girls playing sports.
Participating WNBA and NBA teams select one team of girls who become their Game Growers.
Game Growers visit Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon and work with Nike and their WNBA and NBA team to create a Game Plan for their idea.
With the help of their WNBA and NBA team, Game Growers will implement their game plans in their community.
